Selecting a battery cell starts with the pack design and operating conditions. Surlon Power's listed cell range includes NCM and LiFePO4 options in cylindrical and prismatic formats. Use the individual product specification to review a candidate cell before designing a series-parallel pack around it. Product examples are not a blanket approval for every vehicle, storage system or industrial device.
Confirm the cell's nominal voltage, charge limits, discharge limits and approved operating conditions for the exact model. Define the continuous load, short-duration peak load and charging profile your equipment will require. Do not compare current or capacity ratings without checking the associated temperature, discharge rate and cutoff conditions.
Mechanical fit also matters. Review the cell dimensions, terminal arrangement, insulation and available space for interconnects and the enclosure. A shared format name does not mean that two cells have identical electrical ratings or can be substituted without review.
If the cells will be assembled into a pack, state the required capacity and internal-resistance acceptance criteria, measurement method, measurement temperature and state of charge. Ask which grading, batch identification and inspection records can be supplied for the proposed order. Agree on these requirements explicitly instead of assuming that a product description establishes matched performance across every shipment.
Use representative samples to evaluate the intended pack configuration, BMS, charger and duty cycle. For a low-temperature application, distinguish storage, charging and discharge requirements; do not assume that a low-temperature product name permits all operating modes at the same temperature.
Send the preferred chemistry and format, target cell capacity, proposed pack configuration, electrical load, charge profile, installation requirements and operating environment. Include sample quantity, anticipated order volume, destination and the documents needed for your review.
